THE GATEWAY TO FATVILLE AND WINTER WONDERLAND
I have to be honest, after having worked hard for a week it's pretty awesome to have a Man who cooks for you and makes sticky toffee pudding (I had no idea how good that is! Those of you who haven't tried it, don't- it's like the gateway to fatville) in the weekend. Since My Man has proven his cooking skills on several different occasions, I felt like I had to show that I'm not completely incapable. So even though he begged me not to I actually cooked something for him on Friday (flying Jacob, do you know what it is? I'm sure you do: bacon, chicken, bananas, salted peanuts and cream made in the oven and then served with rice) and he actually ate it! And said that he liked it too. It's now Sunday night and I'm still proud.
Today My Man suggested that we should go to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. I don't think that he realized himself what that would mean to a geeky slightly homesick Swede like me. Distraught over the fact that I didn't have a special "Winter Wonderland outfit" (in my head I know exactly what it'd look like- it involves a lot of knitwear) I found a big knitted jumper with reindeers and snowflakes, red mittens that my great grandmother made and a matching hat, and started jumping up and down of excitement. If My Man ever really doubted this fact he now definitely thinks that I have some sort of issues. Thankfully there are Scandinavians in my life who understand me, so on our way to Winter Wonderland I got a call from Dagny informing me that she was dragging Max there too. Before they got there I had plenty of time to take way too many pictures (My Man walked ahead of me at one point because I started singing along to Jingle Bells) and get tipsy from mulled wine until My Man thought that I'd had enough and suggested that we should go since he was freezing.
Me and Dagny managed to get ahead of some kids in the que and get some pictures together with Santa. We're absolutely shameless.
